A pretty cool little system using batteries as back up power during a store or just a brown out or for primary power.”

It’s a little on the small side to power anything more than just a laptop or a couple appliances. I thought I’d have a hard time getting started, but once I started, I saw it wasn’t such a big deal. I’m amazed at how cheap this is (maybe a little too cheap?), no more than $1,000.00. It sure beats $10,000 for a system that’s going to do the same thing as a hand-built one. I did really like the explanations and instructions though. So easy to follow. And the diagrams help a lot.

The information is good for beginners who are wanting to learn more before diving into a complicated project. I would recommend as reading for all ages and is suitable for use as a homeschool text in science. This book even includes diagrams, project lists and a list of suppliers.

Somewhere inside me is a “green” person trying to get out! I bought the book on the advice of a friend, hoping I would find the “environmentally friendly” me. And it worked! It gave me the motivation to strike out and try the system, and it wasn’t as hard as I thought it would be. Now I’m ready to try more of the books and be off the grid for good!
